Strong women have become a brand. It’s emblazoned on t-shirts, pens, keychains, and wine glasses. Millenial women put it in their hashtags on Instagram. But what makes a woman strong? A blend of misogyny and the lack of a proper sex education uphold the stereotype of women being physically weak.

There is hardly a single country left untouched by the #MeToo movement over the last year, and South Korea is certainly no exception.

Asian women face many difficulties in academic settings. You might think that for me personally, going to a predominantly Asian academic settings in the U.K. would be the perfect place to escape racial stereotyping.
